F.A.Q.

What is a silent auction?

Unlike a 'live' auction, a silent auction can be held over a period of time.  If you would like to place a bid, you submit it online or at the event, and only the auction organiser will know how much you have bid.  You submit the maximum amount you are willing to bid, and after the closing date, the people who have bid the highest on each of the bears will be declared the winners.  You are then required to pay the amount you have bid before the bear will be sent to you.

How do I place a bid?

You have two options:
1. Use the online form found under the details of each bear.
2.  Come to the event on 8th June 2008 to see the bears 'in the fur' and place your silent bid in person.

When is the closing date?

The auction will close on 11th June 2008.

How will I find out if I have won the auction?

I will contact both of the winners personally after the closing date.  The winner will not be declared at the event, as the auction doesn't close until 11th June 2008.

What does it mean by 'Starting Bid of £50.00?

This means that only bids of £50.00 or above will be accepted.

If I win, will there be postage costs to pay?

No - the organiser will pay for the postage.

If I win, what will happen to the money I pay for the bear?

Every single penny of it will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.

Can I bid on just one, or both of the bears?

You are welcome to bid on one of the bears, or both of them if you would like.  It is up to you.  Please remember that if you place the highest bid in both auctions, you will be required to buy both bears.

What payment methods will you accept?

I can accept a cheque if you live in the UK, or Paypal.  Please make sure you can pay using one of these methods before placing a bid.

What currency is the auction using?

All bids must be in £ (GBP).  I cannot accept bids in any other currency.

Are international bidders welcome?

Yes!!  As long as you have a Paypal account, you are more than welcome to place a bid.

What are the Terms and Conditions?

These are the Terms & Conditions which you will have to agree to when you place a bid:

Terms and Conditions

1. By placing a bid you agree to pay that amount in full, if you win the auction.
2.  By placing a bid you are able to pay by either cheque (within the UK) or Paypal.
3.  If you win, you agree to pay the amount you have bid within one week of being notified.
4.  You agree to bid in £ (GBP) only.  No other currency will be accepted.

What will my contact details be used for?

I will only use the contact details you supply in order to contact you if you win the auction.  I will not pass your details onto anyone else.
